Holidays by the ocean or on one of Việt Nam’s many beautiful islands often can be the perfect getaway and with the Reunification and Labour holidays just around the corner this could be the best time to take a trip.
Here are three amazing destinations in Việt Nam where the locals have adopted a “green” lifestyle by banning plastic bags.
Cô Tô Island, Quảng Ninh Province
Cô Tô island district is an ideal place with beautiful beaches and islands such as Sử Tử island, Móng Rồng beach. In order to build a sustainable green tourism environment, from September 1, 2022, the People’s Committee of Cô Tô island district, Quảng Ninh Province piloted regulations that tourists should not bring plastic bottles, plastic bags, and materials with risks of environmental pollution.
Coming to Cô Tô, visitors will be able to “live green” without plastic bags, plastic waste, and see how local people develop Cô Tô in a sustainable way.

Cù Lao Chàm, Quảng Nam Province
Cù Lao Chàm is a cluster of islands located in Tân Hiệp commune, Hội An City, Quảng Nam Province. Recognised as a World Biosphere Reserve since 2009, Cù Lao Chàm increasingly attracts international tourists to visit.
